Meet Dr. David Pico, DC
Dr. David Pico has been a chiropractor since 1993 and opened his private practice in New York City in 1995. He is an honors graduate of Life Chiropractic College in Georgia where he had the privilege of studying under and training with several of the profession’s top doctors. This unique clinical experience, combined with a complete understanding of the principles upon which make chiropractic a unique healing art such as homeostasis and the role of an optimum functioning nervous system in health, have given Dr. Pico the ability to help patients at the highest level.
His compassion, warmth and commitment to patient results has gained him professional acclaim through the celebrities, athletes and Broadway stars who seek his care.
Dr. Pico is a member of the New York Chiropractic Council, the International Chiropractors Association and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. He is also Webster Technique Certified.
The son of educators, his father was an elementary school principal for thirty five years. Upon his passing, his school was renamed in his honor – The Pico Elementary School in Belleville, NJ. Dr. Pico has made a personal commitment to continue his family tradition through his chosen profession and gives his time and expertise to children with great passion and enthusiasm. He is actively engaged in ongoing health education programs for children such as Straighten Up America, Backpack Safety America, Chiropractic Career Days and as a guest speaker on health and wellness related topics in grades K-12.
Previously a board member of The Book Bank Foundation, a literacy promotion non-profit, Dr. Pico is very excited to announce that he has recently joined the board of directors of the James Jay Dudley Luce Foundation. This foundation is committed to Arts, Education and Orphan Care domestically and internationally.
Meet Victoria Nattboy, Certified Health Coach & Office Manager
Victoria Nattboy, CHC lives in Staten Island, New York. She is a mother to four wonderful children. Victoria graduated on the Dean’s List from Malcolm King College in Bronx, New York. Victoria was a Montessori Elementary School teacher to special needs children.
Victoria’s passion, however, is in the healthcare field. She graduated from the US Career Institute as a certified patient care technician. She also graduated from the New Beginnings Institute, a partner school from the College Of Staten Island, as a certified Dona Labor Doula and Lactation Coach and Consultant. She is also a certified health coach specializing in nutrition and integrative health. Victoria loves working for the Pico Family Chiropractic Center. She is the office manager and receptionist. Victoria feels truly blessed to work for such a dedicated and caring doctor as Dr. Pico.
Meet Young Ahn, Acupuncturist
Young Ahn is a graduate from renowned Swedish Institute earned AOS, School of Visual Arts earned BFA, and Pacific College of Oriental Medicine earned Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine, which is a four-year graduate program with 178.5 units and 3307.5 credit hours of theory and clinical practice in both eastern and western medicine. He is certified in CCAOM (Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Clean Needle Technique).
As an acupuncturist, Young combines eastern philosophy and practice with western science. He is currently licensed and seeing patients in New York and New Jersey.
Meet Robin Harris Rickard, Licensed Massage Therapist
Robin Harris Rickard was extensively trained at the internationally renowned Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York. She became a licensed Massage Therapist in New York State in 1990. For nearly a decade, Robin lived and worked between Tokyo and Shanghai where she studied with many masters including: Mas Oyama and Shihan Yuzo Goda of Kyokushinkai Karate earning her second degree black belt, Edward Obaidey, OMD of the Edward Acupuncture Clinic and Rajay Mahtani of Tokyo Yoga Circle.Robin was also a student at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a colleague of The Tokyo Childbirth Education Association with Elena Karplus.
After returning to the United States, Robin continued her training in birth work and became a doula (certified birth assistant) after studying with Penny Simkin of DONA (Doulas of North America). Working with labor and delivery nurses of The Buffalo Children’s Hospital, Robin gave workshops to expectant parents and seminars for healthcare professionals concerning the benefits of massage during pregnancy, labor and delivery. Upon moving to New York City in 1997 she again began her Massage Therapy practice, became an ISHTA Yoga teacher and student of Theta Healing with Eric Brumett. Robin’s continued love of learning brings her to work with world renowned dancers with Alvin Ailey, Brooklyn Nets in addition to Crossfit athletes.
Presently, between her New Jersey and New York City offices she continues to develop her skills and knowledge. The breadth of Robin’s intuition and understanding make her unique brand of bodywork something well worth experiencing. Massage colleagues, physical therapists, chiropractors and a host of other health related professionals seek out her expertise. Those individuals who are simply interested in wellness and feeling revitalized would also greatly benefit from this kind of work.
